What is the Difference Between Hemp Oil and Real Cannabis Oil?

Many people have been asking us at Cannabis Therapy what the difference is between hemp oil and real cannabis oil. This is a very confusing subject so we hope we can clear it up for you now. Hemp oil comes from the seeds of the Cannabis Sativa plant and real cannabis oil comes from the Cannabis Indicas plant. Hemp oil contains cannabidiol (CBD) oil while real cannabis oil contains tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) oil. CBD oil is a health supplement used legally in many countries to treat patients suffering from various chronic diseases while THC is a psychoactive compound that can make people high – yet is also a wonderful treatment for health issues. it is not legal in many countries due to its psychotic nature and links to addiction in users.

Confusion in the Labels

There is much confusion in the labelling of hemp oils, cannabis oils and cannabinoids and there are differences between all three. Some companies label their hemp oil as CBD oil while others say that their CBD is hemp oil and the layman must then figure out the difference! All three come from the cannabis plant, yes, but they contain varying levels of cannabinoids. Hemp oil, for example, contains less than 0.3% of THC yet very high levels of CBD.It is used in industry to make things from its fibre, and in the health industry which uses its oil as a panacea. If the cannabis contains high levels of THC it is known as marijuana and is mostly illegal as it makes the user high and can worsen some health issues. It can also be very useful in the treatment of chronic diseases but must be used as part of a certified health plan.

Hemp Oil is Different from Cannabis Oil

Hemp oil comes from the seeds of the cannabis plant and does not contain as many cannabinoids as medicinal cannabis oils which come from the whole plant. Both oils have proven excellent supplements in the treatment of pain, insomnia, anxiety and depression.Cannabis oils and THC can contain a high percentage of THC which causes psychoactive reactions so it is important to read the label carefully when buying your hemp or CBD or cannabis oil.

The best CBD oil will be screened for purity and will be legal for medicinal purposes. THC or real cannabis oil is not legal yet and must be consumed as part of a legal medical treatment plan – if you have cancer or some other chronic disease. Hemp oil is great to have at home as an all-round health supplement, and is not regulated at all. Make sure you get your cannabis oil from a recognised and reputable source.
